How will any of this help you
lose weight and get in better shape?

Hey there!

Josh here.

So I recently lost over 35 pounds (after trying and trying and trying to lose weight) and I want to show you this little approach to weight loss and fitness that was instrumental in helping me.

I think it will help you as well!

You’ve probably already heard someone (or a lot of someone’s) babbling on and on about nutrition, and clean food, and how eating is 90 percent of success in weight loss and fitness.

True statements.

All of them.

The ‘someones’ who are telling you these things are correct.

Because if you win the battle with nutrition, then you win the war against fat.

But here’s the problem. How exactly do you win these battles?

Those same ‘someones’ talking about nutrition are also the ones touting things like salads, salmon, fruits, and green-beans as the only types of foods you’re allowed to eat.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with salmon and fruit, but I don’t necessarily want to eat it everyday all day all the time.

First off, it’s just not what I primarily enjoy eating.

Secondly, limiting your diet like this is way too restrictive.

And when a diet is that restrictive it makes eating healthy too difficult to stick with over the long term. Because eventually, no matter how fierce your willpower, you’re going to want to have a slice of pizza with friends, or a cheeseburger, or some tacos, or whatever.

So here’s a quick sentence that’s gonna make you happy: You can eat the foods you like and still lose weight.

Case in point: I eat lasagna all the time. I eat cheeseburgers all the time. I eat french fries. I eat steak. I eat bread and white rice and a bunch of other things that are on the no no list.

When I was focusing primarily on losing weight (rather than today where my focus is primarily on maintaining my current weight) lasagna was actually a staple of my fitness plan. And to add to your disbelief, I was eating frozen microwave lasagna. Stouffers to be exact. And I was losing weight.

If you want to know more about this, please read: How I Lost 35 Pounds Eating Stouffers Lasagna.

In case you’re wondering (other than being quick to make, quick to clean) here’s the primary three reasons why I chose to eat frozen microwave lasagna as my go-to lunch during my diet.

(1) Because it taste good! Maybe you will disagree, but to me, I absolutely love this stuff. I still eat it. It never gets old to me and I think it taste so good! Yum yum yum yum!

(2) It is a lot of food. The serving size is generous so that it fills me up and doesn’t leave me hungry after I finish the meal. Plus, I’m a bit of a binger anyway. If frozen lasagna was a Netflix series I would eat about 10 seasons in one sitting! The bigger the serving size for me, the better.

(3) Believe it or not (and you probably won’t), but it fits perfectly within my calorie and protein limits, which allows me to lose fat while maintaining muscle.

And you know what else fits within my calorie and protein limits…the sirloin steak with rice and mac & cheese that I eat. And the cheeseburgers and fries. And the pasta. And the jambalaya. And the list goes on and on of ‘bad’ foods that most people say you absolutely cannot eat if you are trying to lose weight.

Well you can.

I’ve done it.

I’m doing it to this day. It works.

You just have to do it right.

So how exactly do you do this? The big secret that changed my pant size is that it’s not the meals you eat that matter so much, but instead, it’s the version of the meals you eat that actually matter.

You can eat spaghetti everyday and still lose weight.
You can eat tacos everyday and still lose weight.
You can eat pizza everyday and still lose weight.
You can eat your favorite foods everyday and still be healthy.

But you need to eat the right version of that spaghetti, or tacos, or pizza, or favorite food. You have to eat the healthiest version. A version that still taste great, but that also minimizes calories while maximizing protein.

Eating this way greatly increases the probability that you will stick to your ‘diet’ for the long term. And again, the only way to reach your goals is to keep doing the right action for a sufficient amount of time. You know this, and you also know that the absolute hardest thing about fitness and weight loss is the ability to stay consistent. Day in, day out, every day for weeks, months, years. Eating restrictive foods that you just don’t enjoy makes it nearly impossible over the long term. But by eating foods that you love, it becomes much, much easier.

And this is where we come in. At KalorieCounter, we hunt down all the healthiest versions of all your favorite foods so that you can eat happy while achieving your fitness goals. No cost. It is 100% completely free.

We also provide taste testing of the foods we find so you will have a good idea of which versions you will actually enjoy the most. We provide helpful nutrition and exercise tips that have worked for both myself, and for countless others.
